General Manager expresses determination to supporting NGOs activities

The General Manager, Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola, Mr Alleni Ethan Dah has expressed determination of the corporation to supporting activities of Non-Governmental Organizations NGO committed to complementing government efforts in various aspects of life.

He stated this when he granted audience to official of an NGO Catholic Relief Services CRS his office in the Broadcasting House in Yola.

Mr Dah who acknowledged the role being played by NGOs assured the organization of the corporation’s commitment in it effort at enlightening people especially on the use of the free mosquito nets being distributed across Adamwa.

The General Manager appreciated the NGO for partnering with ABC Yola in the areas of sensitizing the public as well as airing of jingles, adding that ABC Yola is consistent in meeting its contractual agreements with organizations.

He pledged to give additional air time to CRS enable to sensitize people of Adamawa on the need to use the bed Nets.

Eelier, the Programme Manager, Adamawa State Malaria Elimination Program, Mr. Banjamin Nashon said they were ABC Yola to seek collaboration in sensitizing the public on the need to use mosquito Nets so as to rid the country of Malaria.

He expressed concern on low use of the Nets by citizenry adding such attitude hinders success the fight against Malaria in the country.

Also contributing, the Demand Creation Advisor of the organization, Mrs Hope Obokoh said over two million Nets are being distributed across Adamawa state which has already been flagged off by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

According to her distribution of the nets is being carried out from house to house and will end by October twenty eight.

On her part, a representative of the National Malaria Elimination Programme, Federal Ministry of Health Mrs. Nkoyo Ogar thanked ABC Yola for its support to the organisation and solicited additional free air time to enable the group enlighten people proper use of the mosquito Nets.

Highlight of the visit was a group photograph and presentation of souvenir to the General Manager of the corporation.
