Tricycle Riders Monitoring team plans to commence regulation of commercial riders

The Tricycle Riders Monitoring Team, has concluded plans to commence regulation as well as monitoring of commercial tricycle riders in the state capital from Tuesday this week.
This followed the centralization of registration of the tricycle operators by the state Ministry of Transport in conjunction with the state board of internal revenue in twenty twenty one.
The arrangement enabled the ministry of transport to give mandate to Tricycle Riders Monitoring Team, for enforcement of details of the initiative.
Speaking in an interview the state coordinator of Tricycle Riders Monitoring Team, Mr. Mega Timothy noted that the team has concluded plans to commence it’s work and personnel have been trained on the mode of operations.
He said efforts are aimed at restricting movements of the riders while identity cards would be issued to riders for easy identification, which in the long run would check insecurity and criminal activities associated with that tricycle mode of transportation.
He solicited cooperation of security operatives in the state to enable the team actualise it’s mandate.
Some tricycle riders, Mallam Danladi Yaro and Hamman Pagarun, said the benefit of the initiative are enormous and appealed to commercial tricycle riders in the state to embrace the new order operations.
According to them, the state government would generate more revenue for development from new mode of operations while personal earnings of the riders would be enhanced.
Some members of the Tricycle Riders Monitoring Team, Kowe Leopard and Isa Ahmadu Ishaku, said the initiative is a welcome development pointing out that it will among other things, create employment opportunities for youths in the state.
