Students Of GSS Hong Advises To Shun Vices

The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Doctor Boss Gida Mustapha has advised students of Government Secondary School GSS Hong in Adamawa State to shun all vices that can distract their studies.

He gave the advice Monday while addressing students of his Alma mata at the Assembly ground, and noted that absence from vices like taking hard drugs, cultism, and lesbianism will justify the investment of their parents.

The immediate past SGF noted that GSS Hong is a reservoir of intellectuals, stressing that the success of life was crafted at the school and charged the students to read hard to enable them to excel in their academic pursuits.

 

Doctor Mustapha who later commissioned science laboratories renovated by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation NDIC, commended the leadership of the Hong Old Students Association for facilitating the project.

He charged the management and students to ensure proper utilization of the facilities.

In his message, the Managing Director of NDIC, Hassan Bello represented by the state Controller of the organization Mr, Victor Egba said rehabilitation of the edifice is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.

On their part, State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development Doctor Umar Garba Pella and representative of the District of Head Hong, Yaduma Hong Doctor Habu Magaji lauded the former SGF for bringing developmental projects to the community.

In his remarks, the President of the Hong Old Students Association HOSA, Doctor Nuhu Maksha said the association will ensure the standard of the school which was established in nineteen sixty-seven is maintained.

Earlier, the Principal of the School, Mr Believe Nicolas thanked the state government for the development taking place in the school.
