Governor Fintiri presents staff of office to Hama Bachama

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Wednesday presented a first class staff of office to the twenty ninth monarch of Bachama Kingdom, Homun Daniel Shaga Ismaila at the Makwada Square, Numan.
The oath of office was administered on the new Hama Bachama by the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Barrister Afraimu Jingi.
Presenting the Staff of office, Governor Umaru Fintiri appreciated the choice of the respected technocrat to lead the Bachama Chiefdom after due process and procedures were followed by the kingmakers.
He commended other contestants for their spirit of sportsmanship in accepting the choice made by the kingmakers and urged Homun Daniel Shaga to extend hand of fellowship to them for the development of the chiefdom and state at large.
Governor Umaru Fintiri expressed the conviction that Homun Daniel Shaga is prepared in ushering in peace and tranquility in the chiefdom in line with the policy objective of the present administration of upholding fairness and commitment to the rule of law that ensure peace in the state.
The Governor said his administration has initiated life changing projects across the state in the areas of education, rural infrastructure, employment generation, and agriculture among others in line with the wishes and aspirations of the people.
While congratulating the new Hama Bachama, the Governor assured him that government will continue to protect traditional institutions and urged him to foster love and carry people along in the discharge of his duties.
In his acceptance speech, Hama Bachama, Homun Daniel Ismaila Shaga thanked Governor Umaru Fintiri for validating his choice made by the Bachama kingmakers and paid tribute to his predecessor who during his life time trying to surmount myriad of challenges confronting the people and restored peaceful co-existence for development.
The royal father expressed determination to do his best to change the narrative in all spheres of human endeavour and called on the people of the chiefdom to rally round him to enable him work to blend his vision for the good of all and sundry.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Joel Hammanjoda Madaki who is the Chief Adviser to the Governor, noted that the event mark a turning point in the annals of Bwatiye kingdom to showcase their rich cultural heritage and hospitality.
Also speaking, a season Journalist Chief Timawus Mathias saluted Governor Umaru Fintiri for the unprecedented strides in various facets of governance in the state and urged him to maintain the spirit.
The event was attended by Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth, other top government officials, traditional rulers, and the academia, among others within and outside the state.
