Planning And Coordination Are Key Factors To Development-Dr. Paninga

The Executive Chairman, Adamawa State Planning Commission, Doctor Mary Paninga has stresses that planning and coordination are key factors to consider for development of any nation.
Doctor Paninga made the remark while addressing participants at the quarterly coordination meeting organized by the Adamawa State Planning Commission in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA at Homtel Hotel, Yola.
She explained that the meeting was aimed at reviewing activities in the last quarter of last year by implementers of UNFPA programmes in the state so as to plan for the future.
Doctor Paninga added that the meeting serves as a platform for implementers to give accountability of their activities in the last quarter of last year while the State Planning Commission is to take stock of the impact of the relevant activities in the state.
She stated that the meeting will improve the knowledge of implementers so as to impact positively on the citizenry through the respective programmes.
The Chairman charged the participants to use the knowledge acquired for the improvement in the activities of their organizations.
In his presentation, the Adamawa State Coordinator of the United Nations Population Fund UNFPA, Doctor Danladi Idrisa said the agency encourages Government Agencies to monitor activities of implementers of its programmes, and improve on the accountability system.
The coordinator expressed the hopes that participants will use the knowledge acquired in the applicantion of funds based on the agreement singed by the UNFPA and the State Government.
Some of the participants Lilian Nkannebe and Yusuf Amos Sunday expressed the content of the meeting and pledged to use what they learnt for the larger society.
