Adamawa CAN distributes relief materials to flood victims in Koh Community

The state Chairman of Christians Association of Nigeria, CAN Doctor Stephen Dami Mamza who is  also the catholic  bishop of yola diocese has distributed relief materials to flood  victims of loh community of Demsa local government and  environs.

Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza in company of other CAN  state executive members on Monday were in the palace of Hama Batta Homun Alhamdu Gladston Teneke on a courtesey call and to intimate him of the purpose of their visit to his chiefdom.

The Bishop told the Paramount ruler that they were in Demsa to sympathize with him and his people over the havoc caused by the  recent flood  that ravage farm lands  and settlements  leaving many victims homeless in the chiefdom.

Bishop Dami Mamza while presenting one hundred and fifty bags of food items to Hama Batta for  demsa community explained that  the intervention was  courtesy of the  Minister of the federal capital territory Alhaji musa Bello who entrusted CAN  and the Muslim council to deliver it to the areas affected by floods

In his response,the Hama Batta Homun Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke, expressed delight over the gesture by the minister  through the State executive of Christian Association of Nigeria pointing out they are the first group to bring succour to victims of disaster.

The Paramount ruler prayed to God  to continue to reward those behind the intervention.

Bishop Dami Mamza and his Entourage from the palace proceeded to loh community  in Demsa where he also presented one hundred and fifty bags of grains to flood victims  to cushion their hardships and encouraged  the people to take advantage of dry season farming  which is reliable.

He added that same gesture will be extended to six  communities who were affected  by the flood and appealed to Government, public spirited individuals to come to the aid of the victims.

Bishop Dami Mamza while expressing worry over the level of damage caused by the flood urgedto the authorities concerned to support the people with water pumping machines,seeds and other equipments to ease the dry season facilitate dry season farming for their survival.

Receiving the items on behalf of the residents ,the murum mbula who was represented by the Village head of Dilli, Reuben Nanamo thanked bishop Dami Mamza and the  Minister of the federal capital territory for coming to the aid of those affected and promise to share the items to the targeted Beneficiaries.

He harped on the need for provision of water pumps for the dry season farming in the area and solicited intervention by Government and wealthy individuals in that regard.
