Non- Governmental Organization Makes Public Presentation On Community Resilience In Adamawa State

A Non- Governmental Organization Community Reach out and poverty alleviation Initiative CRI Yola, in collaboration with the European Union has organised a public presentation on impact and outcome of the initiative to enhance community resilience and social cohesion in Adamawa state.

In a welcome remark the executive Director CRI Yola represented by Abubakar Buba appreciated the reselience and efforts of stakeholders in achieving the goal of the project which is strengthening civil/military and police relations in Girei, Maiha, Mubi, Michika and Madagali local government areas.

Also contributing, the European Union Managing Conflicts in Nigeria Adamawa state lead Abdulkadiri Bello Ahmed said the project has assisted greatly in managing conflicts in Adamawa state by training and retraining of security personnel.

In his remark, the chairman of the occasion and permanent secretary, security Alhaji Sulaiman Usman commended the organisers and charged them to replicate the intervention in other areas in the state.

He said the state government has mainstreamed DPS into the security architecture of the state.

Alhaji  sulaiman, implored farmers, herders and fishermen to imbibe the spirit of dialogue in resolving conflicts.

Presenting the achievements recorded during the course of implementing the project Abubakar Buba of CRI Yola, listed some of the cases resolved as a result of the intervention in the communities they worked.

Highlight of the event was good will messages from representatives of the commissioner of police, ministry If women affairs, community leaders.
