Muslim Council of Nigeria, Yola South local Government Elect New Leaders

The Muslim Council of Nigeria, Yola South local government branch has elected new officials that will run the office for the next three years.

The thirteen member council is headed by Engineer, Muhammad Bashir Buba as Chairman.

Speaking during the event, Chairman Shura in the area, Alkali Dahiru Waziri Dudi challenged the EXCO to initiative programmes that would enhance activities of the council.

He such initiative would create an avenue for interaction between the new leadership and organs of government as well as other private sectors for the growth of the council.

Alkali Waziri Dudi said the leadership should set a record in the history of the council that enables the council to acquire permanent office and mobility.

He reminded them of the enormous task before of protecting the rights of every Muslim within Yola South local government area and assisting the needy, stressing that they would account for their stewardship in the hereafter.

While wishing them successful tenure of office, charged them to work in unison for them to succeed.

In a remark, the outgone Vice Chairman of the council in the area Alhaji Saidu Muhammad Jada who stood in for the Chairman wished them successful tenure of office.

In their separate comments, Alhaji Muhammad Danjuma and Barrister Hashimu Suleiman who supervised the elections expressed satisfaction with the maturity exhibited by Shura members and General Purpose Committee which was done based on consensus.

According to them, anyone who is aggrieved with the conduct of the election is at liberty to write to the State headquarters of the Council.

Responding on behalf of those elected, the new Chairman of the council, Engineer Muhammad Bashir Buba thanked the Shura members and General Purpose Committee for the confidence repose on them.

He explained that they would leverage on the feats of their predecessors, assuring to run an inclusive administration and welcome constructive criticism for the Council to forge ahead.
