Malaria kills millions of people-Mrs Charles

Adamawa State Programme officer of Civil Society in Malaria Control, Immunisation and Nutrition ACOMIN Mrs Laureta Charles said malaria is one of the diseases that kill millions of people.

Mrs Charles who stated this at a media briefing on the global fund malaria community led monitoring project, noted that it malaria disease has become a serious health concern.

She enumerated some of the achievements of the project to include mass increase in awareness of free global fund malaria commodities, Community ownership and integration of traditional title holders into the project.

Earlier, the Adamawa State chairman of ACOMIN Mr Martins Banga Madanga applauded Community Based Organisations implementing the project in eight local government areas of Adamawa state for their commitment.
In their good will messages, Abdulmumini Abubakar, Muhammad Gidado Yolde and Madam Helen Magani noted that the project has gone a long way in supporting awareness on malaria commodities and services.

Highlight of the event were an interactive session with participants and media on successes and challenges of the project.
