Lawmaker Distributes Empowerment Items, Cash to her Electorate

 The member representing Demsa constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Mrs. Kate Raymond Mamuno, has distributed over eighteen million naira worth of assorted empowerment items and cash to her constituents.

Speaking while distributing the empowerment items to her electorate in Demsa on Saturday, the lawmaker said apart from the items distributed, she is planning to undertake the construction of solar powered and hand pump boreholes across all the political wards in the constituency.

She thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for making it possible for her to procure the items for them, calling on the electorate to support his administration to continue in providing dividends of democracy.

In his comment, the Deputy Governor of the State, Chief Crowther Seth, who was represented by the Adamawa State Coordinator of Sustainable Development Goals SDGs, Mr. Mark Balanso, commended the legislator for empowering her electorate.

The Deputy Governor said that what the lawmaker has done is in line with the present administration’s effort in providing good governance to the citizens, and urged the electorate not to relent in supporting her in providing quality legislation to them.

Also speaking, a PDP Stakeholder, Chief Medan Teneke, said that Demsa electorate thought the Member will not be able deliver but she has turned out to be one of the best legislators they have ever produced, saying PDP is solidly behind her.

On his part, the Council Chairman Demsa Local Government, Mr. Elkanah Kados Fwa, appealed to the beneficiaries to make the best use of the items distributed to them to become self reliant, and thanked the member for reaching out to her electorate.

In his welcome address, the Chairman PDP Demsa Local Government Area, Mr. Gibson Pwadadi, said that he is happy to be among those that will testify to her credible stewardship.

Presenting the items to some of the beneficiaries, the Deputy Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly Mr Pwamakaino Mackondo and General Manager Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola Mr Alleini Ethan Dah charged them to make good use of the materials for the overall development of the area.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf others expressed their appreciation to the Lawmaker for the gesture promising that they would continue with their support and cooperation to Mrs. Kate Raymond Mamuno to enable her succeed in moving the area forward.

It could be recalled that Mrs. Kate Mamuno had during a townhall meeting with her electorate in Demsa recently, informed them about her plan on how she intends to expend fourty million constituency project fund given to every lawmaker by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

She told them that she had earmarked the sum of twenty million for the provision of hand pump and solar powered boreholes across Demsa, fifteen million for providing empowerment items, while the sum of five million will be used to buy delivery kits to support women during delivery.

Some of the empowerment items distributed by the female lawmaker included sewing machines, water pumps, motorcycles, wrappers and cash.
