The Nigeria Association of Blind, Adamawa state chapter has restated its commitment to discouraging all form of street begging by the blind across the state
The newly elected officials of the association led by its Chairman Comrade Bitrus Richard disclosed this while on a courtesy call on the General Manager, Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation, ABC Yola in his office.
He said the association since its inception in nineteen seventy six is promoting good leadership and educate its members to cultivate a spirit of self reliant, and self support each other.
He explained that the visit is to seek collaboration with the media on the need to sensitize the general public to stop discriminating persons with visual impairment and other forms of disability.
The association chairman solicited for free airtime on programmes, such as issues and events, Taba Kidi Taba Karatu, Ribar Democradiya among others, adding that it will help to spread the activities of the association.
Responding, the General Manager Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola, Mr. Alleni Ethan Dah, congratulated them over their victory and prayed God to guide them in discharging their duties.
He explained that disability should not be a barrier to achieve or realize ones ambitions, assured them that the station will continue to publicize activities of the association as it has been proactive over the years.
