Amna Shelleng Challenges Political office holders to emulate Mr Monday Simon by assisting less privilege

The Amna Shelleng, Alhaji Abdullahi Isa Dasong has challenged Political office holders and other well to do individuals in his domain to emulate the former vice chairman of Shelleng local government council, Mr Monday Simon by assisting the less privilege in the society.

He made the call at his palace during the presentation of scholarship award to over one hundred students, cash assistance to over fifty persons with disabilities and fifty three less privileged ones sponsored by Mr Monday Simon.

The royal father acknowledged the contribution of the politician in touching the lives of the people through his series of empowerment programs.

Amna Shelleng commended the philanthropist for his humbleness, magnanimity and passion to assist people and urged him to maintain the tempo.

In his remarks, the organiser of the program and former vice Chairman Shelleng local government council, Mr. Monday Simon said he initiated the program to empower Youths as a way of contribution to the development of the local government.

Mr Simon appreciated Amna Shelleng for his fatherly support and appealed to the people of the area to support him to enable him realise his ambition of developing the area through people oriented programs.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Monday Simon Shelleng Project 2023, Mallam Muhammad Majii described Mr Monday as a politician who has the interest of people at heart.

He said Mr Simon has rehabilitated one hundred and forty seven hand pump Boreholes, provided sporting equipments to Youths in ten political wards of the local government and assisted the needy irrespective of their religion or political affiliation.

In a remark, the All Progressives Congress APC chairman, Shelleng Local government area Alhaji Yawale Tela thanked Mr Monday Simon for the assistance saying the party is proud of him.

During the event, Mr Monday Simon presented a Toyota Lexus Jeep to Amna Shelleng, and a sienna bus to Kungiyan Shelan kirista ta Lutheran Gongola Diocise KSKL.

In a related development, Mr Monday Simon has been turbaned as Sarki Yakin Kungiyan Shelan kirista ta Lutheran Gongola Diociese covering Shelleng, Lamurde, Guyuk and Shani Local government areas.

Speaking during the turbaning ceremony held at the LCCN number one Shelleng, the Bishop of Gongola Diocese Reverend Peter Batimawus who was represented by a Dean Reverend Sunday Labduwa of Boidwai Division Shelleng local government said the title was bestowed on Mr Simon in recognition of his selfless service and contribution to the development of the area.

Responding, Mr Monday Simon thanked Gongola Diocese for finding him worthy of the title and promised to use the position in promoting unity and peace among Christian and Muslim communities in the area.

The new Sarki Yakin Kungiyan Shelan kirista ta Lutheran Mr Monday Simon paid a traditional homage to the Kwandi Nunguraya, kuruhaye Dishong Dansanda the second and Amna Shelleng Alhaji Abdullahi Isa Dasong and sought their royal blessing.
