Amirah Task Parents On Child Upbringing

Parents have again been advised to be committed to the responsibility of ensuring proper upbringing of their children for them to be responsible members of the society.
The State Amirah, Initiative for Muslim Women of Nigeria, (IMWON) Malama Asma’u Aliyu Abubakar gave the advice in an address during the annual distribution of foodstuff and clothes to Orphans by the organization in Jimeta.
She expressed worry at how some parents for show lukewarm attitude towards the education of their children, adding that every child has the right to religious and western education.
Malama Asma’u also cautioned women who under the guise of poverty to resort to begging, stressing that Islam does not encourage begging.
The Amirah, who harped on the importance of assisting orphans and other less privileged persons in the society, particularly in the Holy month of Ramadan, cautioned Muslims to refrain from unnecessary utterances in the month of Ramadan so as not to deny themselves some rewards.
She quoted some verses in the Holy Qur’an that spoke on assisting the needy with foodstuff, and urged Muslims to always uphold the traditions of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him in their daily lives.
Some of the beneficiaries’ foodstuff and cloths applauded the efforts of those who contributed towards the success of the project.
