Adamawa state to strengthen capacity of Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has given the assurance that the state government will continue to strengthen the capacity of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA to rid the society of the drug menace.

The Governor who stated this when he paid a surprise visit to the state command of the NDLEA on Tuesday, said government will invest hugely on youths to improve on their wellbeing.

He commended the NDLEA management in handling drugs related activities and urged the staff to continue rendering their best all the overall interest of the society.

Governor Umaru Fintiri maintained that government will provide the needed support to NDLEA to complement and enforce the sustained gains of the fight against circulation and use of hand drugs and other illicit substances.

The Governor while engaging the staff of the agency, appreciated their doggedness in the fight against drug abuse and tasked them on professionalism in the course of discharging their duties.

In his remark, the State Commandant of the NDLEA, Mr Idris Muhammad Bello applauded Governor Umaru Fintiri for the support being given to the agency which he noted has improved on service delivery.

He said the determination of the present administration to the fight against drug abuse cannot be overemphasized hence the commitment of the agency to achieving set goals.

The Governor accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government SSG Malam Bashir Ahmad was conducted round the holding cell, rehabilitation centre and offices of the NDLEA by the state commandant.
