Religious Leader Make Case For Dredging River Benue

The state chairman of Christian Association in Nigeria CAN, Doctor Stephen Dami Mamza has made a passionate appealed to the Federal Government for dredging river Benue as a permanent solution to the perennial flooding of some riverine communities in Adamawa.

The chairman who is also Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese stated this in continuation of presentation of relief materials donated by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory malla Musa Bello to victims of flood in  numan and Guyuk local Governments area.

Doctor Dami Mamza while presenting one hundred and fifty bags of guinea corn to the Gwandi Nunguraya Dishon Dansanda the second, in Guyuk sympathized with the victims and called for more assistance to them. .

Receiving the grans on behalf of the royal father the secretary to the Guyuk traditional council Mr Wilberforce thanked Bishop Dami Mamza and  Mallam Musa Bello for identifying with the victim during   their moment of grief.

He explained that five man committee as been set up to ensure equitable distribution of the commodity to the affected person.

While in numan, Bishop Dami Mamza presented same number of the bags to hamma bachama where he commended the Paramount ruler for the maintenance of peace in his chiefdom since his coronation and urged him to sustain the spirit.

Responding the Hama Bachama, Doctor Daniel Shaga Ismaila appreciate the minister of the federal capital territory for his concern and sympathy.

The Paramount ruler described the recent flooding as devastating.
