Media Chief Commend NGO For Promoting Peace, Unity

A Nongovernmental Organization, the Centre for Women and Adolescents has commended the General Manager of Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation, ABC Yola, Chief Alleni Ethan Dah for his efforts toward promoting peace and unity between members of the public.

Malam Tijjani Ubandoma made the commendation Friday when he led a delegation of the centre on a courtesy visit to the General Manager in his office at the Broadcasting House, Yola.

He said the aim of the visit was to thank the management and staff of the corporation for their support during in the course of executing the last project of the centre.

Malam Ubandoma explained that the centre has executed various projects which include Renewal partnership with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC as well as trained journalists on how to report on anti-corruption activities.

He added that the centre formed what it called Majalisa in twenty-one local governments with a view to enlightening members of the public on how to prevent election malpractice and other social vices among others in the state.

The team leader announced that the centre will embark on a second project targeting the reduction of corruption and social inclusion among critical groups.

He stated that the new project will strengthen policies and programs for anti-corruption during the next year`s general election.

Malam Ubandoma solicited the support of ABC Yola for the success of the new project.

Responding, the General Manager of Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation, ABC, Chief Alleni Ethan Dah expressed delight with the visit, adding that ABC Yola has come a long way in working with the organization in ensuring the success of its activities.

He said the achievement recorded by the centre was due to diligence and commitment and advised the centre to ensure continuity of its projects.

Chief Ethan Dah explained that ABC Yola is ready to work hand in hand with Non-governmental Organizations to promote their activities.

The General Manager admonished civil society organizations to unite and work together with the mass media to ensure the success of next year`s general elections.

He assured the Centre for Women and Adolescents of ABC Yola support in executing the second project of the centre.
