ADAMAWA: SEC approves over N18.6b for flyovers,roads

Adamawa State Executive Council Thursday approved over eighteen point six billion naira for the construction of two flyover bridges in the state capital and township roads across the the state.

Similarly, the council during the extra ordinary meeting has also approved recovery of payment of sales of Shops at Jimeta Ultramodern Market, by issuing demand notice to those who defaulted for over ten years.

The Commissioner of Information and Strategy Doctor Umar Garba Pella disclosed in an intetview with newsmen shortly after the council meeting presided over by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Doctor Pella explained that the money earmarked for the projects was captured in the twenty twenty budget of the ministry of works and it will through twenty twenty one budget as approved by the council.

He said the flyover bridges under lot one and two will be built at police roundabout and total filling station roundabout in Jimeta which will last up to eighteen and twelve months respectively.

He enumerated township roads to be constructed include Zumo Street and links; zero point seventy five kilometers, Mafiya road with fall out drain; one point two kilometers, Mbamba Street one kilometers and Doctor’s Quarters road; one point six kilometres all in Yola town which will last for eight months.

Others included construction of Izala – Gweda Mallam – Rafa- Wayam road; two point five kilometers in Numan to be finished in eight months while Hong European Quarters road covers three point five kilometers to be completed in six months.

The Commissioner added that there is also construction of Gulak Township road; six point six kilometres to be completed in fourteen months, and Jada township road covering three point eight kilometers.

Also approved by the council included Weekly Scope road two point one kilometers to be completed in twelve months and Michika township road five point one kilometers to last for eight months, Washout section along Jada Mbulo road; zero point four kilometers and Nyibago- Yolde Pate road with two span bridge; three point one eight five kilometers to be completed in twelve months.

The Commissioner said the council also adopted the report from the ministry of transport for the transformation of ministry of transport to ministry of transportation in order to enable the ministry support the revenue drive of the state.
