Governor Fintiri flags off sales of fertilizer cropping season

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has flagged off the sales of fertilizer for twenty-twenty cropping season.

Represented by the Deputy Governor Crowther Seth, the Governor said a bag of fifty kilogram NPK fertilizer is to be sold at five thousand naira.

He warned all parties involved in the sales of the commodity to avoid all temptations and ensure that the product reach those farmers.

Governor Umaru Fintiri assured that government will continue to give priority to the agricultural sector in order to ensure food security.

The Governor added that, government is working tirelessly to fix the fertilizer blending plant at Damare in Girei local government to ensure constant supply of the commodity and other farm inputs at an affordable price to farmers in the state.

Earlier, in welcome remarks, the Commissioner o Agriculture, Mr. Dish khobe commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for approving purchase of the fertilizers for the farmers in the state.

He assured the Governor that the commodity would be sold to genuine farmers to boost yield in this cropping season.

In their separate good will massages, a spokesman of the farmers, Malam Maikano Tafida and a female farmer, Wilbina Pukuma commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for fulfilling his promise of providing fertilizers to farmers at subsidized rate.

Malam Tafida appealed to the Governor to provide rice processing industries in the state so that the abundant raw materials can be processed and sold to other states.

In a vote of thanks, the Programme Manager of the Adamawa Agricultural Development Programmed AADP, Alhaji Ibrahim Dauda Nbollo lauded the concerted efforts of the present administration in Adamawa in booting agricultural activities and called on farmers to cooperate with the development for better service delivery.
