The commissioner for Higher Education Science and Technology Alhaji Umaru Iya Daware has described girl-child Education as powerful instrument for the enhancement of growth, development and sustainability of any nations.

The commissioner made the remark in a paper presented during the lunching of girl’s education campaign organized by a non-governmental Organisation, connected Development and Malala Fund for girl education in the state capital.

In the paper entitled the NEXUS between improving girl’s education and Nation building a focus on North East Development, Alhaji Iya Daware harped on the need for all to promote girl enrollment and retention in Schools.

Earlier in his remark while launching the campaign, the Chief Executive Officer of connected Development, Mallam Hamzat Lawal said the aim of the project is to encourage girl-child education and accountability in delivery in the education sector across Nigeria.

During the lunching, there were goodwill messages from the Commissioner of Education and Human Capital Development, speaker of the State House of Assembly, as well as representatives of the United Nations Children Fund UNICEF present at the event were Principals of Secondary School, school Based Management Committee from Yola and Fufore local government areas as well as some development partners.
