Adamawa State Government has announced Monday October twelve twenty twenty as the date for the reopening of Public and Private Schools across the State.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who issued the directive, regretted the long closure of schools due to COVID-nineteen Pandemic alongside other sectors of the economy.

The Governor in a statement by his Press Secretary Mr Humwashi Wonosikou said he was pleased to announce Monday October twelve as the date for resumption of academic activities in schools from Basic to Tertiary levels.

He added that government will do everything possible towards ensuring enforcement of the COVID-nineteen Protocols in schools.

The  Governor directed the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development to meet with stakeholders in the education sector to discuss modalities for the reopening of the schools.

He also directed school managers to enforce COVID-nineteen Protocols and provide the necessary facilities needed for the safety of Students.

Governor Umaru Fintiri warned that Schools must ensure Washing of Hands at entry points, use of Facemask and Hand Sanitizers as well as Social Distancing and proper Hygiene stressing that any Institution or school found wanting in this regard risk closure and sanctioning.

He advised parents to take interest in the health of their Wards by assisting schools and providing basic requirements needed for their Children in the fight against the Corona virus.
