Adamawa Speaker Calls for Support to Orphans

The Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas has appealed to wealthy individuals to assist needy in the society.

The Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas has appealed to wealthy individuals to assist the needy, especially orphans, to give them sense of belonging.

He made the appeal while Speaking during a reception Organized by Minority Whip of the State Assembly and member representing Mayo Belwa Constituency in conjunction with the Adamawa State Muslim Council Mayo Belwa branch at the district head of Mayo Belwa’s palace.

Speaker Iya Abbas described the event as timely considering the situation of some orphans especially at grassroot level, hence the need on other philanthrophies to emulate the Lawmaker

He commended the Muslim Council and Ibrahim Musa Italiya for Organizing the reception during the Eid-El Kabir sallah celebration announced the donation of five hundred thousand naira on behalf of Iya Abbas foundation and two hundred and fifty thousand naira on behalf of State Assembly.

Speaking earlier the organizer of the reception member representing Mayo Belwa Constituency Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Italiya who arrived the venue with friends and associates, said he embarked on the gesture because he is proud to associate with the orphans, and also an opportunity to identify with them and their success

Ibrahim Italiya who announced the donation of five hundred thousand naira to the orphanage fund and a Peugeot four or six car to district head of Mayo Belwa appealed for more support for the orphanage said he choose to celebrate with the children because he thought they needed love from the people around them, noting that every child is for everybody.

In his remark former State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Alhaji Umar Mijinyawa Kugama who saluted the organizers of the event said there is no child without a mother and father but they were just held hostage by circumstances.

Earlier in his welcome address the Chairman Muslim Council Modibbo Ahmadu Aminu said the orphans have been put into the care of Council and they must do their possible best in that regard as the orphans need to special attention.

There were goodwill messages from the district head of Mayo Belwa Alhaji Bamanga Dalil, Vice Chairman Mayo Belwa Among others
