The Programme Manager Adamawa state Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme Doctor Boniface Gundiri has appealed to financial managers in the execution of health programmes to be honest and transparent in their transactions.

He made the call while receiving an award presented to him by the chairman of the Tuberculosis control Supervisors’ Forum in the state held at Kinasar Hotel Jimeta Tuesday.

Doctor Gundiri said Adamawa state Tuberculosis and Leprosy Programme emerged as the best performing in the country, and was commended by the Federal Ministry of Health under his leadership.

He expressed appreciation the forum of supervisors presenting the award and promised to do more.

Doctor Gundiri appealed to financial institutions in the county to adhere to guidelines to ensure success of various government policies.

He thanked the Adamawa state government for its support and urged stakeholders to live up to their responsibilities.

In his remark while presenting the award, the chairman Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Supervisors Forum, Malam Ahmed Ibrahim said the forum resolved to honor Doctor Boniface Gundiri for emerging as the best financial manager in managing Tuberculosis Control

He said the major aim of the Tuberculosis and Leprosy programme is sensitizing people on the dangers of the diseases and to make Adamawa Free of tuberculosis and leprosy.

Malam Ibrahim said the event is to enable the department to review their activities and successes that have been recorded in the state.

He called on Adamawa state government to continue to support the Tuberculosis Control programme through payment of counterpart fund.
