7 persons died in road Accident in Adamawa

Seven persons were confirmed dead Sunday evening in a motor accident that occurred between Jabbi-lamba and Mallam Madugu village in Girei local government area of Adamawa state.

The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Adamawa State Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Sulaiman Yahaya Nguroje confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with ABC Yola reporter.

DSP Nguroje said the accident occurred when a Toyota Corolla Starlet collided with a Toyota Sienna Bus around four o’clock Sunday evening.

He added that the six passengers in the Toyota starlet died on the spot including the driver, while the driver of the Sienna bus who was alone in the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was receiving treatment in the hospital.

DSP Nguroje, said the Commissioner of Police in the State Aliyu Adamu Alhaji has ordered for immediate investigation on the cause of the accident.

He called on motorists to be extra vigilant and adhere strictly to traffic regulations while on road to avert such incidents.
