Standard Micro Finance Bank, Others Launches e-Transportation system In Adamawa

The Standard Micro Finance Bank in collaboration with Newcastle University United Kingdom, Moonlight Energy United Kingdom and the Adamawa state Government has launched an e-Transportation system.

The launching which was held at City Green Hotel Yola with the theme Clean-Pat, Clean Power and Transportation for farmers in Adamawa is aimed at addressing major barriers for farmers in Nigeria and Adamawa state in particular.

In his welcome address, Managing Director, Standard Micro Finance Bank Yola, Amit Kumar Dubey said the project is first of its kind in Adamawa state and will offer affordable transportation for farmers a midst rising fuel cost.

He said the project aimed at curtailing carbon emissions and ensure safe, secure and sustainable transport which will help farmers using electric motorcycles and tricycles with sustainable battery that will cover miles with ease.

Mr Dubey urged targeted beneficiaries to key into the project.

In a keynote address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Energy Mr Dogara Musa pledged government support to ensure successful implementation of the project in the state.

Also speaking, the branch Controller, Central Bank of Nigeria CBN Yola, represented by Mr Yusuf Adamu, stressed the significance of the project, called on partners and customers of the Bank especially farmers across the eleven local government areas in the state to be committed to enable them reap the benefits.

In a remark, the Chief operating Officer, Standard Micro Finance Bank Yola, Mr Abraham called on people in the state to support the project.

There was a presentation on solar- powered Tricycles and Battery Swap point due to begin in Adamawa state by representative of Newcastle University, United Kingdom.
