Wife Of The Governor Commissions Women, Girls Centre

The wife of the Governor Hajia Lami Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commissioned a women and girls centre named after her.
Hajiya Lami Fintiri commissioned the facility at Damare community of Fufore local government area.
The ministry of women affairs and social development in collaboration UNFPA, UNICEF and Action health incorporated AHI build the Lami Fintiri women and girls centre at Damare district for treating cases of sexual and gender based violence and to enable women and girls have access to medical and psychological attention.
The treatment centres was named after the wife of the Governor because of her continuous efforts in fighting the course of girl child in the society while providing shelter and hope to victims of gender based in Adamawa.
While commissioning the facility, the firstlady Hajia Lami Fintiri expressed her heartfelt gratitude knowing that the centre will be beneficial to women who will come together to discuss issues that affect their welfare and well-being with a view to also access various services.
She commended the harmony between the State Government, United Nation and the ministry of Women Affairs who were able to establish a Sexual Assault Referral centre known as the Hope Centre other located at Yola Specialist hospital, Numan and Mubi General Hospitals where more than six hundred cases have so far been recorded.
Hajiya Lami Fintiri also nicknamed the place as laughter stating that every woman that will step into the facility will receive hope of living again and come out with laughter.
The commissioner of women affairs and social development Lami Patrick charged the community to see the centre as a place of hope and called on the male to support the action taken by the government and NGOS to bring sanity to their community.
The Executive Director of Action Health Incorporated AHI Mrs Morenike Esiet and other collaborators said their organisations were engaged to work with the Ministry of Women Affairs to advance the cause of women and girls in the state, saying the centre was situated where it was most needed.
In their separate remarks the District Head of Damare, Alhaji Hassan Jafaru, the chairman Fufore local government area, Musa Jauro Gurin and one of the Illustrious son of the area Sadiq Damare, promised to support projects that will have direct bearing on the lives of the community.
