PDP Candidate for Mayo Belwa Constituency Promises purposeful representation if given the mandate

A People`s Democratic Party PDP Flag bearer for Mayo Belwa Constituency in the forthcoming twenty-twenty three general election Alhaji Musa Mahmud Kallamu has promised to initiate and sponsor bills that will engender peace and tranquility in the area if elected in to the office.
He made the promise at a town hall meeting organized by Center for Women and Adolescent Empowerment Yola in collaboration with MacArthur foundation and Civil Society and Legislative Advocacy Center CISCILAC held at Government lodge Mayo belwa.
Alhaji Kallamu said as an experienced legislator, the primary role of a lawmaker is to enact laws that will promote social well fare and development of his constituents adding that people need lawmakers who are competent enough to represent them for meaningful development.
The former Majority leader of the sixth assembly pledged to liaise with traditional and religious leaders to come up with plans to end insecurity bedeviling the area.
According to him while in the legislature in the past, he sponsored several bills and influenced drilling of over forty six boreholes, as well as execution of projects in health and empowerment programmes to his constituents.
He used the forum to appeal to people of Mayo Belwa to elect him and all other PDP candidates in the coming election for the development of the area and Adamawa at large.
The PDP Candidate thanked the organizers of the event for their foresight and assured to match his words with action.
Earlier, the Executive chair, Center for Women and Adolescent Empowerment Yola Hajiya Asmau Joda represented by Tijjani Ubandoma said the aim of the town hall meeting is to hold public office holders accountable on their duties and to check corruption as well as promote transparency and accountability among others.
Speaking with ABC Yola reporter, the Executive Chairman Mayo Belwa local government area Mallam Muhammadu Buji represented by the Secretary of the council Comrade Mahmud Njabari described the town hall meeting as timely as it will guide the political office holders and the electorate on their responsibilities.
