NAWOJ Campaign Hots Up

Ahead of the National Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalist, NAWOJ, November ninth to eleventh in Minna, Niger state, candidates aspiring for various positions in the election have being turning up in Yola, the Adamawa state capital to seek for votes from Women journalists in the state.

Ruth Abubakar, from Gombe State aspiring to lead NAWOJ was in Yola over the weekend where she called on members to be the voice to the voiceless as well as be at the fore fight against of gender based violence, rape and other abuses of women and girls.

 

The candidate while addressing members of Adamawa state chapter of NAWOJ at the press Center in Yola said her team was in the state to declare her intention to solicit support and votes to enable her emerge as National president of the Association, and pledge to run an open door policy.

Earlier in his speech, the Gombe state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ who is the Director General, Champaign team of the candidate Comrade Saidu Malala said it has become the tradition to go round to mobilize   members before the national conference of NAWOJ.

Welcoming the team the Chairperson Adamawa State, chapter of NAWOJ Hajiya Zainab Abubakar said that the doors of the association are always open for positive contribution and wished them success and a peaceful champaign exercise. N

The Chairman of NUJ Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan, advised members to promote the Unity of the Union.
