Governor Fintiri charges council Chairmen to focus Welfare of Youths

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has charged chairman of the twenty one local government councils in the state to focus on the welfare of youths as his administration is poised to give due attention to youth empowerment next year.
The Governor who gave the charge when he received in audience, the local council chairmen in the Conference Hall Government House Yola Monday, said his administration is committed to addressing restiveness among youths in Adamawa.
He saluted the chairmen for being proactive towards ensuring that the recent violence by some hoodlums in the state did not escalate to the local government areas, observing that they did their best in that regard.
Governor Fintiri urged them to take charge of the security in areas with full force and improve on the living conditions of youths to enable them realize and regret their actions and inactions in the recent unfortunate incident.
The Governor thanked traditional and religious leaders and the good people of Adamawa for condemning the act of looting and vandalizing of public and private facilities by some hoodlums.
Governor Fintiri cautioned the people to guard against inciting and negative comments that could lead to further crisis in the state but rather team up with government to better the lives of youths as leaders of tomorrow.
He declared that government has so far recovered about eighty percent of the non-food items looted in the recent ransacking of public and private facilities in the state and was optimestic that more will be recovered.
Earlier in his remarks the Chairman, All Local Governments of Nigeria ALGON in Adamawa, Alhaji Jingi Rufa’i said the visit was to register solidarity with the Governor for demonstrating sterling leadership qualities during the recent up-rising.
Alhaji Rufai who is the Chairman of Mubi South Local Government council acknowledged the courage and resolution by the Governor in dealing with the challenging situation, describing it as politically motivated and urged him not to be deterred by the actions of the hoodlums.
He prayed to God to guide and grant the Governor good health and wisdom in piloting the affairs of the state and assured the him of their unflinching support towards taking the state to greater heights.
