Center for Women and Adolescent Empowerment Yola organises debate for students of Public Secondary Schools in Adamawa

A Non- governmental organization, Center for Women and Adolescent Empowerment Yola has organized a debate on Transparency in Election and Governance as a panacea for National Development for students of Public secondary schools in Adamawa.

The finale of the competition which featured representatives of Government Secondary School Numan, Government Day Secondary School Maiha and Government Day Secondary School tudun wada Mayo Belwa, was held at Aliyu Mustafa College Yola.

The Executive Chair of center for women and Adolescent Empowerment Yola Hajiya Asmau Joda lauded the participants for their wonderful performance adding that their Quality presentation indicated that the Public Schools in the state still remained a force to reckon with.

According to her, the competition was meant at increasing awareness among the young ones on relevant issues relating to transparent elections and good governance.

Hajiya Asmau Joda stressed  the need for transparency in elections for national development.

The Chairman of the Debate, Umar Faruk Babainna saluted the students for their quality performance.

Some speakers at the event described as encouraging the performances put up by the students who participated in the Debate and called on Government to increase funding of Public schools for quality output.

Government Secondary School Numan took the first position and recieved trophy with medals while Government Day Secondary School Maiha and that of Mayo Belwa emerged second and third respectively.
