ACOMIN Commends CSOs On Malaria Project In Adamawa

Civil Society Organizations on Malaria Control and Nutrition in Adamawa state has conducted a media briefing on the Global Fund Malaria Community-Led Monitoring.

The briefing is aimed at updating the media on success and challenges under the project which is being implemented in the state since two thousand and nineteen by non-governmental organization, ACOMIN.
It is also to increase working relationship and linkages with media organisations and personality and to advocate to states and local government areas for increase of funding to Malaria.
In a welcome address, the state  chairman of ACOMIN Mr Martins Banga Madanga appreciated the Civil Society Organizations for implementing the malaria project in the state which recorded a huge success and appeal for more support by stakeholders.

The state programme officer of ACOMIN Mrs Laureta Charles highlighted the successes, challenges and way the forward in the community led-monitoring project.
Mrs Charles identified the successes to include increase awareness of the free global Fund malaria commodities and services as well as increased community ownership integration of district heads into the project.
She stated that among the challenges the organization encountered in the previous years are difficulties in accessing hard-to-reach communities due to insecurity in some parts of the areas and resistance to some drugs by malaria parasite.
She called on government to scale up community centred initiatives in its programmes while donors should increase support to such interventions.

There were goodwill messages from the Civil Society Organizations implementing the project which pledged to redouble their efforts in achieving further impact.
