A non-governmental organization, Society for Women and Girl Child Empowerment SWOGE is to support vulnerable persons to reduce incidences of Sexual Based Violence through Community Based Organisations.

The executive Director of SWOGE, Mrs Laureta Charles who disclosed this at two day orientation training for project Implementing Community Based Organisations held at Fombina House Jimeta.

She said Malkohi and Damare Internally Displaced Persons camps in Yola South and Girei local government areas and their host communities are to benefit from the project.

Mrs Charles explained that the project with caption “It’s Our Concern Project” is being supported by European Union EU ACT and implemented by Society for Women and Girl Child Empowerment SWOGE.

In his remark, the project officer of the organization, Mr Andrew Charles stated that the project will contribute towards reducing Sexual Based Violence incidences and burden in selected IDPs camps and the host communities.

In their good will messages, the representatives of the Ministry of Women Affairs and that of Community Based Organisations appreciated the efforts of EU-ACT in collaboration with SWOGE for the intervention and pledged to support the project.

Correspondent reports thatroles and responsibilities of Community Based Organisations in achieving the goals of the project top the agenda of the training.
