Cleric cautions Muslims against vices during and after Ramadan

As the annual Ramadan fast begins Tuesday Muslims have been called upon to intensify prayers and recitation of the Holy Qur’an daily for bountiful reward from Allah.

Chief Imam of Wuro Dole New Mosque in Yola Town, Modibbo Yusuf Abubakar made the call shortly after leading the Subhi prayer in the mosque.

He described the month of Ramadan as a period of mercy, forgiveness and sharing hence the need for Muslims to devote more time to the worship of Allah.

According to him, the  Holy Qur’an was  first revealed to prophet Muhammad  in this month of Ramadan and urged Muslims to avoid acts  that will vitiate their fasting.

Modibbo Yusuf observed some Muslims do fast but spend the whole day gossiping and backbiting saying such persons will not be rewarded for fasting.

He admonished Muslims to fear Allah pray fervently for peace and development of Adamawa and the country at large.
