The chief Imam of Agga Islamic Centre Yola Sheikh Mika’ilu of Hassan has attributed the insecurity bedeviling the country to lack of good moral upbringing in our societies in Nigeria.

The scholar made the observation during a Ramadan lecture organized by the Initiative for Muslim Women of Nigeria IMWON held at Ladi Atiku School Jimeta.

He observed that some parent have failed in their responsibilities of training their children and inculcating good morals in them.

The scholar urged parents to be prayerful for their children to become responsible in the society as well as monitor their movement and other activities so that they will not associate themselves with bad companies.

Mallam Mika’ilu advised parents to bring their children closer to them and provide accommodation and feeding in addition to sponsoring their educational pursuits.

Another Islamic scholar Mallam Aliyu Haruna in his presentation month of Ramadan is a compulsory act of worship which is the abstinence from eating, drinking, smoking and sexual intercourse from dawn to sunset with the intention to fast, stressing that Muslims should enjoined Muslims to sun vices in order to have bountiful reward from Allah.                                                Mallam Aliyu called on Muslim wealthy to assist the poor with foodstuffs and other needs in line with teachings of the Holy Propht.

In her welcome address, the Amirah of the organization Mallama Asma’u Aliyu said IMWON is a non-governmental and non-political organization meant to assist orphans and widows in the society.
