Wuro-Ngayandi bridge in Madagali local government cut-off
Collapse Bridge
The bridge linking Wuro-Ngayandi with other communities in Madagali local government has collapsed as a result of heavy rainfall in the area on Sunday.
As a result of this, the area has now cut-off from Madagali and communities in neighbouring Borno state.
ABC correspondent reports that vehicles and passengers were stranded as the road is impassable.
Speaking in an interview, the District Head of Kirchinga in Madagali local government, Alhaji Abdulkadir Maina made a passionate appeal to the Federal and state governments as well as stakeholders in the area to do the needful by providing a temporary bridge so that economic and social activities will not come to a standstill.
He explained that the heavy rainfall had resulted into flooding and loss of one life as well as some properties.
The District Head described the flood as one of the worst in the past decades in the area.
