NOA Director Charges Eligible Voters In Adamawa To Register And Obtain Voters Card

The State Director, National Orientation Agency NOA, Mallam Salisu Yakubu has stressed the need for Adamawa citizens who are eligible to register and obtain their voters card to enable them exercise their franchise during the election.

He stated this when he and other officials of the agency paid a courtesy visit to the General Manager, Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola, Mr. Alleni Ethan Dah in his office at the Broadcasting House Friday.

Mallam Salisu explained that he is in ABC Yola to seek collaboration with the station to enable him discharge the mandate of the agency in the state effectively.

According to him, the mandate of the agency includes to mobilize and sensitize the citizenry on government policies and programmes as well as generate people`s opinion on issues for government among others.

He maintained that report reaching the agency indicates that there is low turn-out of people in the on-going voter registration exercise at the moment.

The Director explained that the agency is presently undertaking some programmes which are on peace and security, voter registration exercise, the Home ground school feeding and N-ship and called for the support of ABC Yola.

Responding the General Manager of Adamawa Broadcasting Cooperation ABC Yola, Mr Allenie Ethan Dah represented by the Director News of the Corporation Malam Ismaila Muhammed assured the state Director of maximum support of ABC Yola to the agency.  The General Manager used the opportunity and called on the Director to also sensitise unemployed youths in the state on the need to learn trades of their choice to enable them be self-reliant.
