Council Chairman Commends Governor Fintiri for approving re-opening of schools

The chairman Yola South local government, Alhaji Salihu Malkohi has commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru fintiri for approving the re-opening of schools in Adamawa.

He made commendation at a meeting with stakeholders on Educational sector held at Aliyu Mustapha College, Yola.

Represented by the vice chairman, Mr Kefas Elisha, the Chairman lauded the fintiri led-admonition for giving priority to Educational sector and timely payment of salary, promotions and renovation of schools.

In this remarks, the Executive Secretary Yola South Local Education Authority, Malam Ibrahim Usman explained that the aimed of the meeting is to draw out modalities and overview of COVID-nineteen protocol in readiness of schools reopening.

He charged school authorities to monitor student and ensure compliance to Nigeria Center for Decease Control, NCDC directives especially washing of hands with soap use of face masks and social distancing for the safety of learners and teachers.

The Executive Secretary warned that a monitoring team will go round schools to ensure compliance to COVID-nineteen protocols and any school that violates the safety protocols would be sanctioned.

In his speech, the Coordinating Principal Yola South Local government who is the Principal Aliyu Mustapha College, Yola, Malam Ibrahim Hamman Adama Tukur said the meeting is to ensure the safety of students and teachers after re-opening to curb the spread of the COVID- nineteen.
