adamawa state government paid N300m as Exams fees for students

Adamawa State Government has paid three hundred million naira as examinations fees for Adamawa students to WAEC and NECO.
The Commissioner of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs. Wilbina Jackson disclosed this during the inauguration of members of boards and parastatals under her Ministry at its conference hall Tuesday in Yola.
She said Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has paid the colossal amount to the examination bodies to lessen the burden of parents in paying the fees for their wards.
The Commissioner reminded the newly inaugurated members that they were carefully selected to sustain the ideals of the present government in human capital development on the state.
Mrs. Jackson tasked them to ensure that they carry out the mandate diligently for the success of the education sector under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
She said the key to unlock poverty and erase other anti social behaviour in the society is through the acquisition of quality education which Governor Umaru Fintiri is poised to provide.
The Commissioner called on them to work together to enable them succeed in the onerous task of developing the education sector.
In a remark, the State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT, Chief Rodney Nathan described education as a critical sector in human development and challenged them to be equal to the task.
Also in a remark, the Special Adviser to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Education, Mrs. Hannatu Kadala said their selection
was deliberate to enable them lend their quality hands in developing education in the State.
In a vote of thanks on behalf of the inaugurated members, Alhaji Mohammed Inuwa Mo’Allahyidi who is the chairman of Post Primary Schools Management Board pledged to give in their best and sustain the confidence reposed in them.
The Commissioner inaugurated four Boards which include Adamawa State Post Primary Schools Management Board, Adamawa State Mass Literacy Board, Adamawa State Library Board and Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board.
