A Plea has been made to Yola South Local Government Council to provide standard facilities at the Ram Market Ngurore to boast revenue generation and provide conducive environment to traders.

The Chairman RAM sellers Association,Ngurore market branch Alhaji Abubakar Umar made the call in an interview.

He described the market as one of the major sources of revenue to the local government with thousands of naira being generated on weekly basis, adding however that the market lacked befitting stalls and other facilities.

Alhaji Umar advised those patronized market to transact business with actual traders to avoid being defrauded by criminals posing as traders.

The Association Chairman said measures have been put in place to forestall entry of stolen rams to the market, as people came from distance palces like Taraba, Gombe, and Port Harcourt weekly to purchase Rams and other livestock.

In a similar development, the Zonal Chairman, Ram sellers Association for Mubi Alh Sani Usman Adamu have called for inclusion of the association in relevant government programmes.

In a telephone interview, Alhaji Adamu explained that members of the Association in the zone contributes immensely to the economy of the state, and therefore deserved to be involved in programmes designed for their benefit.

He called on government to assist members of the Association who are victims of Boko Haram insurgency and have no capital to revive their businesses, considering the economic reality in the country occasioned by COVID-nineteen pandemic.

Alhaji Adamu suggest provision of soft loans to enable them restart their businesses.
