Participants at workshop challenged to use knowledge acquired

Participants at a three Day Workshop organised by the Federal Medical Centre FMC, Yola have been challenged to apply the knowledge gained for higher productivity and effective public service.

The Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, Professor Auwal Abubakar gave the charge at the opening of the workshop and sensitization on Service Delivery and staff attitude for LOCUM and intern officers organized by Servicom of the hospital.

Represented by Doctor Ahmadu Usman, Head of Clinical Service of Federal Medical Centre, Yola the medical director said the training is to equip participants with knowledge on how to cope with cultural and attitude change in the course of attending to members of the public.

Professor Auwal explained that the Servicom Unit of the hospital has a responsibility of educating people on the importance of their health and called on those who patronise the hospital to be supportive.

In his remark, the chairman of the occasions, Doctor Sajo Njidda explained that the Servicom Unit is mean to promote better healthcare delivery and to ensure conducive environment for patients in the health centre.

He stressed the need for participants to ensure mutual understanding among staff and intern officers.

Doctor Njidda pointed out that the Servicom Unit should to ensure easy access to healthcare and guide staff to enable them to be active rendering services to patients.

He saluted the management of the Federal Medical Centre, Yola for organizing the workshop and urged it to maintain the tempo.

Earlier, in her welcome address, the NadalOfficer, Servicom FMC Yola, Doctor Maisaratu Bakari said the essence of the workshop and sensitization is to equip participants with public service knowledge and guide them in their various department to adhere to public service rules.

There were goodwill messages by Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad Nayejo the Director Administrative of FMC Yola, Alhaji Mohammed Bashir Gabdo, Director of the National Orientation Agency, Adamawa State and Mrs Lami Aminu, the Provost, College of Nursing and Midwifery Yola among others.
