The Adamawa State Investment Committee set up by state government has organized an export and investment summit at the conference hall of PAWECA.

The Committee has twenty-eight members with seven lining ministries that includes Commerce, Livestock, Environment and Entrepreneurship Development, Culture and Tourism, Mineral Resources and Agriculture.

Speaking during the summit, chairman of the committee who doubles as the Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Industry, Doctor Ishaya Dabari, said the committee is also working to stimulate economic growth and create awareness among the citizenry in line with its mandate.

He added that the committee will develop legal framework and policy towards investment attraction in the state.

In his remarks, the Commissioner of Entrepreneurship Development, James Iliya, described the summit as timely and promised to justify the confidence repose on them.

On her part, Commissioner Ministry for Information and Strategy,  Neido Geoffrey Kofulto noted that Adamawa will benefit a lot through export and investment, create more job opportunities and increase the Internally Generated Revenue of the state.

Also speaking, the regional coordinator of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council, Pastor John Okirie, challenged committee members to work hard and sincerity to move the state to a greater height.

On his part, the Chief Operating Officer of Adamawa Agribusiness Support Programme ADAS-P Mallam Yunusa Ibrahim Gafai stressed the need to harness potentials endowed in the state.
