Islamic Cleric cautions Muslims against making derogatory statements on Companions

The chief Imam of Kwanan Kuka Jummu’at Mosque in Mayo Belwa local government area, Ustaz Muhammad Gidado Usman has cautioned Muslim against making derogatory statements on companions of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.

He gave the warning in a sermon shortly before leading Jummu’at prayers in the mosque.

Ustaz Gidado said it is wrong to condemn any of the companions as it is unacceptable in Islam.

The Imam urged Muslims to fear Allah and abide by the teaching of the Holy Qur`an and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.

He challenged Muslims to always avoid things that will cause disunity among them, adding that Islam encourages Muslims to lives in peace and Unity.

Ustaz Gidado who expressed concern on the increasing number of religious groups in Nigerians, advised Muslims to be cautions.
