Residents of Adamawa State Residents Urge to Embrace Tree Planting

Residents of Adamawa State have been charged to embrace the culture of tree planting to mitigate the effects of desertification and drought.

Hajiya Fadimatu Usman Belel, Executive Director, FABEL Foundation for Women and Youth Development gave the charge in commemoration of World Environment Day organized by the Center for Women and Adolescents Empowerment Yola in collaboration with the organization.

She spoke extensively on Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience, and ways to overcome challenges of the environment.

Also in his presentation, Mr. Sunday Rabe from ACReSAL spoke on the Effects of Climate change and called on the general public to protect the environment and how to reduce the effects of climate change by planting and nurturing trees.

In his welcome address, Comrade Hasan Bapetel stressed the need for the public to protect the environment.
