Center equips GBV officers on protection of survivors

The Centre for Women and Adolescent Empowerment Yola in collaboration with the foundation for refugee Economic Empowerment and supported by the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund has equipped Gender and protection officers from women led organizations in Adamawa with skills on protection of survivors of Gender Based Violence GBV.
At a three-Day workshop which held at Dan Tsoho hotel Yola, the initiative was aimed at enhancing crucial skills and knowledge on the GBV officers.
Speaking, a Gender and protection officer from the Centre for Women and Adolescent Empowerment Yola, Rakiya Tasiu Yusuf said the workshop is to empower participants with skills to protect survivors effectively and implement sustainable strategies within their communities.
She noted that the participants are the women led organizations who were equipped with necessary tools to make enduring impacts in their respective localities.
Rakiya Tasiu urged the participants to make the best use of the knowledge they have acquired during the workshop.
Participants at the workshop delved into project management techniques, conflict resolution strategies, trauma-informed care practices, and advocacy methodologies.
Some of the participants at the workshop expressed delight and described the training as timely.
