Supporters of PDP in Adamawa stage protests demanding INEC to be just

Supporters and party loyalists of the People`s Democratic Party, PDP, on Monday staged a peaceful protest to press home their demand on the electoral empire to be just, honest and fair in subsequent pronouncement of the state governorship result.

The protest which witnessed massive turnout of supporters took off from the fresh air office in Jimeta, banks road and terminated at the INEC office headquarters in Yola North.

Addressing the gathering at the fresh air office, the deputy Director General, campaign of governor Umaru Fintiri, Chief Felix Tangwami explained that the essence of their action was to prevail on INEC to deliver justice and nothing more.

He revealed that the exercise will continue unabated every eight o’clock in the morning until the suspended governorship collation result exercise resumes.

Chief Tangwami who added his voice to Governor Fintiri’s call for peace in an earlier press conference urged the protesters to justify their love and support for him by keeping and remaining peaceful as requested by the governor.

He cautioned them against act capable of causing and fuelling crisis such as destroying some people’s billboards and the like.

The deputy DG campaign who expressed optimism that Governor Fintiri will emerge winner eventually and urged them to remain calm and peaceful.
