A suspected member of the Shila gang on Saturday attacked a National Youth Service Corps NYSC member, Muhammad Ghali Abdulmumin serving with Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation, ABC Yola, in an attempt to assassinate him.
According to reports the youth corps member was on his way to his Primary Place of Assignment PPA was stabbed three times on his thigh, and left leg while inquiring based on the atmosphere he found, unknown to him that a thief was chased into Wuro-Hausa ward of Yola town.
In the course of the inquiry, a friend of the thief removed a sharp knife and stabbed the corps member, three times, and fled to his father’s house located nearby, and when some good Samaritan attempted to arrest him his father intervened and asked them to let him go.
However, they reported the matter to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Yola who now arrested the father in place of his son who has gone into hiding.
The youth Corps member is currently taking medication.
