UN Set To Award Dr. Paninga With Leadership Excellence
The Chairperson of Adamawa State Planning Commission, Dr. Mary B. Paninga is set to receive a prestigious award for leadership excellence at the 2024 United Nations International Day of Peace celebration.
The International Day of Peace was stablished in 1981 by the United Nations Resolution No. 36/64 and is observed annually on September 21. This year’s theme, “Cultivating a Culture of Peace,” highlights the importance of promoting non-violence, education, dialogue, and cooperation.
According to the Information Officer, Joy Diamond Leka the award is in recognition of her outstanding contributions to public service, human development, and humanitarian efforts, and dedication to creating a more peaceful and developed society which have significantly promoted peace in her community and Nigerian society at large.
The statement said the award ceremony will take place at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja on Saturday this week, September 2, 2014, and called on Adamawa people particularly those residing in Abuja to grace the ceremony.
The statement explained that as an exceptional Adamawa woman, Dr. Paninga has gained international recognition and traveled globally for professional development courses.

Dr. Paninga’s impressive profile showcases her academic achievements, including a degree in Accountancy from the University of Maiduguri and multiple postgraduate qualifications from renowned institutions.
Her extensive experience spans various roles, such as Project Accountant, Head of Financial Management Unit, and Member of the Board of Management at Ahamdu Bello University Teaching Hospital.
