The students of Government Secondary School, GSS Hong have been urged to make the most of their newly renovated and re-equipped science laboratories.

During the prize-giving ceremony organized by the GSSS Hong Old Students Association, Class of ’86, the President of the Association, Engr. Linus A. Agwanda, represented by Mal. Ibrahim Abdu, encouraged the students to take their studies seriously and utilize the equipped science laboratories to excel in their school certificate examinations and pursue their dreams in universities.
“The renovated science laboratories will be providing students with hands-on experience in scientific exploration and discovery.
“By leveraging these resources, students can develop a strong foundation in science and technology, essential for success in today’s society,” Agwanda said.

The ceremony, held on November 8, 2024, at the college assembly hall, saw twelve students received prizes for their academic excellence in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The Head Boy, Bethuel Hosea, emerged as the overall SS 3 best student in Mathematics and Physics, while the Deputy
Head Girl, Elizabeth Dimas, was the best overall SS 3 student in Biology.
Other recipients included top performing students in the aforementioned subjects across SS 1 and SS 2.
In his goodwill message, the Vice Principal (Academic), Mr. Wandiya Dzarma, expressed gratitude to the Class of ’86 for their unwavering support to the school and encouraged them to continue in their generosity.
