The National women coordinator of police community relation committee PCRC Barrister Maimuna Sheriff has urged women to assist the police by giving relevant information to enable them reduce crime rate in the country.

She was Speaking during a town hall meeting held at gwagwalada in the federal Capita territory Abuja.

The coordinator reiterated the need to expose criminal elements in the security,hence the importance of mothers to instill good morals in their wards.

Speaking the Magaji Gwagwalada Mohammed Yunusa Idris described women as good information gathering and stressed proactive measurements in reducing crime rate.

Patron of PCRC gwagwalada Area Command, Justice Balami Mwado called on government to properly utilized security votes, especially when the community failed to give creditable information in reducing crime.

In a good will message from the National chairman of police community relation committee, PCRC Ibrahim Magaji expressed appreciation to women for their role in curtaining crime in the society.

In her welcome address, coordinator women committee, Patient Ardey discussed on National Building, peace and security in all communities, and urged women to do more in ensuring that there is conducive atmosphere for people to live.

There was a paper presentation by inspector Amenughean Rafabi on the role of Women, What need to be done to improve security need to be done to improve security.

The Commander 23 Armoured Brigade Nigeria Army Yola, Brigadier-General Mohammed Jibrin Gambo has directed for restriction of vehicular movement across the 21 local government areas in the state between 7: am to 6: pm except for those on essential duties.

Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations 23 Armoured Brigade Yola said the directive is aimed at ensuring a safe and peaceful environment as well as protecting the lives and properties of the citizenry during the Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections on Saturday this week.

The commander while commending residents of Adamawa State for their cooperation in ensuring a hitch-free presidential election and hope they would maintain the tempo in the gubernatorial and State Assembly elections.

The command charged the electorates to exercise their franchise without any hindrance.

The twenty twenty two Veterans affairs Five Day Seminar organized by the Nigeria Army Department of Administration has ended in Yola with a call on the Veterans to Uphold nationalism through Patriotic disposition and eschewing corruption as well as ethno- religious sentiments.

This was contained in a communique issued at the end of the seminar Friday at Muna Hotel in YOLA.

The aim of the workshop is to consolidate on the gains of the previous sessions of seminar while addressing the gaps in the engagement of Nigeria Army Veterans in information gathering and sharing for enhanced National Security in the country.

The communiqué also noted that the theme of the workshop ” Harnessing the skills of Nigeria Army Veterans for National Security”  need to be sustained as it rekindled zeal in the Veteran’s and sense of belonging.

It also observed that the current insecurity situation in Nigeria is surmountable as veterans were expected to play key roles in their various localities.

The Communiqué called on Veterans to see Nigeria as highest legacy, efforts, sacrifices and support it’s sustenance through positive contributions.

In a remark, the Chief of Army Staff Liutenant General Faruk Yahya represented by the Director Veterans Affairs, Nigeria Army Department of Administration, Major General M.T Durawai enjoined the Participants of the Seminar to cooperate with local security authorities in their Communities and play active role in achieving desired Peace and security in the country.

The Special Guest of Honor at the event, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri represented by the Chief of Staff Government House Yola Professor Maxwell Gidado lauded the Nigeria Army for their efforts at ensuring peace and security and assured them of Government support at all times.

He implored the Participants to use the knowledge acquired during the seminar for peace and tranquility in the country.

The Nigerian Army Headquarters’ Department of Administration, has organized a five day Veterans affairs Seminar and workshop for ex-service men in North East of Nigeria.

Hosted by the Army Headquarters three Division, the event is holding in the confrence Hall of Muna Hotels Yola.

Speaking during the event, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahya said the aim of the workshop is to build a professional Nigerian army ready to accomplish assigned missions within a joint environment in the defense of Nigeria.

Represented by the General Officer Commanding Three Division of the Nigerian Army and Commander, Operation Safe Heaven, Major General I.S Ali, the Chief of Army staff said the seminar intends to follow up important national issues especially on security.

The Seminar with the Theme, “Harnessing the skills of Nigerian Army Veterans for National Security“ will also engage veterans to support the security operations which are already yielding positive results for enhance national unity.

The Chief of Army staff, urged the Participants of the workshop to use the unique opportunities provided by the forum to rekindle their efforts and bring out expertise acquired while in the service.

He appreciated Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for providing the army a friendly environment for conduct of its exercises.                                                       Declaring the workshop open, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri represented by the Chief of Staff Government House, Yola Professor Maxwell Gidado acknowledged the contributions of the Nigeria Army in maintaining peace and security in the country and expressed government support at all times.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Commander Twenty Three Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Yola Brigadier General M.A Garba said the seminar is designed to remind the Veterans ‘on their roles in National Security adding it is also an opportunity to get feedback on the veteran’s welfare.

The Workshop is to be concluded on Friday this week.

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Zone 3 Yola have arrested 42 suspected criminals including the miscreants, Shilla boys in connection with various offences.

The Public Relations Officer of Zone 3 of the Nigeria Police, SP Yusuf Adamu in a statement said the suspects were alleged to have involved in criminal acts such as house breaking, brothel and burglary among others.

According to the statement items recovered from the suspects include fabricated iron, Indian hemp, Tramadol, clothes, pot, bucket, bottles of suck and die as well as scissors.

It added that the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 3, AIG Daniel Sokari Pedro has directed the Police to wipe out remnants of the miscreants Shilla boys and other criminals in the zone.

The AIG then called on the general public to be vigilant   and report any infraction of the law to the nearest Police formation for appropriate action.

In another development, Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of zone 3 AIG Daniel Sokari Pedro has presented cheques covering five hundred thousand naira to each to the next of kin of three deceased Police officers who died in active service.

AIG Pedro advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money given under the Inspector General of Police family support welfare package to cushion the suffering of the benefitting families.

A 22-year-old Paul Shaltha, a resident of Sabon Gari, in Sangere Futy, Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa state has been arrested by Police for allegedly posing as a soldier and extorting money from people.

SP, Suleiman Nguroje spokesman of the Police Command in the state in a statement said Shaltha was picked up for extorting tricycle operators and members of the public on Sunday

Part of the statement reads: “Paul Shaltha, the self-acclaimed soldier, was on Sunday arrested for extorting money from a tricycle operator who allegedly violated traffic rules,” the statement stated.”

The Federal Commissioner Public Complaints Commission Adamawa state office Alhaji Abubakar Bobboi Jijjiwa has expressed readiness of the commission towards defending and protecting the rights and interest of public in the state.

He gave the assurance while on a courtesy call to State Commissioner of Police, state Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and state Controller, Nigeria Correctional Service.

The Commissioner said as an independent Government agency and regulated by the Natio Assembly, the Commission is committed to serve people especially those who are aggrieved or unjustly treated.

Alhaji Jijjiwa said the purpose of the courtesy calls on the security chiefs is to create synergy between the Commission and the agencies in the areas of defending and protecting the right of people who are unjustly treated.

He listed some mandates of the Commission to include defending the cause of downtrodden administrative and social injustice as well as physical injustice.

The Federal Commissioner called on people who are unjustly treated to come to the Commission and present their complaints free of charge to enable them get justice.

Speaking separately, the Adamawa state Commissioner of Police Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, state Commandant NSCDC, Muhammadu Usman waksha and State Controller Nigeria Correctional Service Ahmad Abdu Usman thanked the Federal Commissioner for visit and assured him of their unflinching support whenever the need arises.

The public complaints Commission which was established in nineteen seventy five is saddled with the responsibility of defending people who are unjustly treated to get redress.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has lauded security agencies for the prevailing peace, security and stability in Adamawa.

The Governor made the commendation during a farewell dinner organized for some outgoing service commanders in the state held at Banquet hall, Government House Yola.

Governor Umaru Fintiri appreciated them for the services they rendered in the state.

He showered praises on the commanders for their cooperation to the government in handling security matters.

Governor Fintiri revealed that Adamawa will miss their contributions in the security sector but charged them to maintain the spirit in their new areas of primary assignments.

He prayed to God to guide them as they have been promoted to the higher ranks and called on those who took over from them to follow their footsteps in fighting all sorts of crimes and criminality for peace and tranquillity.

Earlier in his welcome remark, the Secretary to the State Government, SSG Malam Bashir Ahmad commended the outgoing service commanders for their efforts to1wards improving security situation especially of lives and property in the state.

In his vote of thanks on behalf of the outgoing service commanders, Major General Sani Muhammad expressed appreciation to the government and people of Adamawa for the support and cooperation extended to them during their stay in Adamawa.

He saluted Governor Umaru Fintiri for ensuring the review of the security architecture in the state particularly the establishment of Operation Farauta which enhanced security and urged for expanding of the security outfit.

The Army chief called on Adamawa citizens to give credible information to security agencies that will assist in maintenance of security in the state and prayed to God to grant Adamawa and Nigeria peace and stability.

The outgoing service commanders included Major General Sani Muhammed, former Brigade Commander of the twenty three Armoured Brigade, Yola, former Commissioner of Police, AIG Olugbenga Adeyanju, and former Director and Assistant Director, State Security Service Bolari Oloni and Bankole Alade as well as former Resident Commissioner of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission ICPC, Bello Idris Bakori.

Highlight of the event was presentation of gifts to the outgoing service commanders by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

The event was also attended by Deputy Governor Chief Crowder Seth, Chief of Staff Government House Yola, national and state legislators and some commissioners among other top government officials.

The member representing Verre in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Yapak has called on people in the constituency to support security agencies in the efforts at securing lives and properties.
The legislator made call Wednesday while presenting seven motorcycles under the second phase of his twenty-twenty constituency project to Vigilante groups across the four political wards in Verre Zone of Fufore Local Government Area.
He explained that the gesture is to complement the vigilantes in working with security agencies to tackle the various security challenges in the area and the State in general.
Abdullahi Yapak who decried the high level of insecurity, called on the people to intensify prayers to seek divine intervention in security and cautioned criminal elements to repent for peace and development of the area.
He commended the traditional rulers in the area for the role they are playing in the maintenance of peace and unity among the people and urged them to maintain the tempo.
In his address, the All Progressives Congress, APC Chairman of Fufore Local Government Mr. James Beka saluted the legislator for taking positive steps to enhance security in the zone.
He urged the beneficiaries of the intervention to justify the confidence reposed in them to boost the fight against criminality.
Speaking on behalf of community leaders rulers in the constituency, the district head of Nyibango, Alhaji Abubakar Jika commended Abdullahi Umar Yapak for his effort to facilitate the activities of the vigilantes.
He appealed to people in the area to always furnish security agencies with useful and credible intelligence reports for timely action.
In their separate remarks, some of the beneficiaries of the motorcycles declared their support to security agencies and prayed to God to reward the legislator abundantly.
Meanwhile, the member representing Verre Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Yapak has presented assorted food items he facilitated from Federal Government Covid-nineteen Palliatives through the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency ADSEMA together with his Christmas package to the people.
The legislator explained that the gesture was to enable beneficiaries to have a worthy Christmas.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Olugbenga Adeyanju says security should be everybody’s business hence the need for citizens to collectively support securities agencies in ensuring a secured and peaceful Adamawa.

Mr Adeyanju stated this when he received two patrol vehicles donated by one Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmed Dollar at a ceremony held at the police headquarters Yola Thursday.

The Commissioner of police thanked the donor for the gesture adding this is part of the community policing as the vehicles will go a long way in addressing the insecurity in Adamawa.

Mr Adeyanju then called on wealthy individuals to emulate Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmed Dollar stressing that saying security should not be left to Government and security agencies alone but collectively pursued.

Responding, the donor of the vehicles, Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmed Dollar who was represented by Abubakar Hassan said it was considering the insecurity bedeviling the country and the state in particular ranging from the criminals Shila-boys in yola that he decided to contribute his quarter.

Ahmed Dollar expressed the hope that the patrol vehicles will help in reducing security challenges in the state.
