The state Ameera, Nana Asma’u Qur’an Recitation Competition Adamawa State chapter Hajiya Asma’u Aliyu Abubakar gave the reminder in her address at the opening ceremony of the second edition of Nana Asma’u Qur’an Recitation Competition in collaboration with Initiative for Muslim Women of Nigeria IMWON holding at Ibrahim Bornoma Islamiya School, Jimeta.

Hajiya Asma’u drew attention of participants on the importance of competition which is not just for winning, but will enhance their pronunciation while reciting verses of the Holy Qur’an, noting that all of them are winners.

Also speaking, former chairman Maiha local Government Area who is the chairman of the occasion, Ustaz Jibrin Mahmud said participants were drawn across the twenty-one local governments in the state.

In his vote of thanks, Adamawa State Bin Fodio Qur’anic Recitation Competition Coordinator, Mallam Hayatu Liman commended the foresight of the founder of the organization and wished the participants the best.

In a remark, State Coordinator, Nana Asma’u Qur’an Recitation Competition, Mallam Hamid Idris Ahmed popular called Amir female were selected as judges for the competition unless in the first edition where male served as judges.

Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Walfare Commission Yola has announced four million, six hundred and seventy nine thousand naira as official Hajj fare for the twenty-twenty four Hajj for Pilgrims from Adamawa.
Executive Secretary of the Commission Mallam Salihu Abubakar who disclosed this in ABC Yola popular Taba Kidi Taba KARATU Programme urged intending Pilgrims who have earlier deposited four point five million naira to top up the balance of six hundred and seventy nine thousand naira on or before ninth of this February.
He said the state had been allocated with two thousand four hundred and eighty five seats in which one thousand six hundred and thirty eight intending Pilgrims paid their fare.
According to him preparations are on top gear for the commencement of issuing visa by Saudi authorities and called on intending Pilgrims to hasten the complition of their fare to enable them attend this years Hajj excersize.
Mallam Abubakar noted that the Commission has secured a befitting accomodation and other essential facilities to cater for the intending Pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
Mallam Salihu Abubakar explained that intending Pilgrims will this year only stay four days in Madina instead of eight days adding the first take off flight for the Hajj will come up on ninth may twenty-twenty four.
He announced Max air as official flight that will airlift the Adamawa Intending Pilgrims from Adamawa.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reiterated the commitment of his administration to support Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission Yola in ensuring hitch free conduct of next years’ pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

The governor was spoke through the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu Prambe during post two thousand and twenty-three Hajj Walima and award presentation held at the Commission’s Headquarters, Yola.

Governor Fintiri said government will to ensure welfare of Adamawa pilgrims are cater for during Hajj exercise and lauded the Commission for the successful hajj exercise.

The Governor explained that government will settle hajj fare for all officials of the Commissions before the end of December this year and urged intending pilgrims to hasten their payment.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission Yola, Malam Abubakar Salihu attributed the success of the last Hajj exercise to support the Commission received from Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

The Executive Secretary used the forum to announce the commencement for the preparation for next year’s Hajj exercise, saying each intending pilgrims is expected to deposit four point five million naira pending official announcement of the Hajj fare.

There were goodwill messages from NAHCON, Lamido Adamawa Amna Shelleng among others.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was among the awardees.

The Executive Secretary of Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission Yola Mallam Abubakar Salihu has disclosed that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON has allocated two thousand four hundred and eighty-eight seats to Adamawa State for the 2024 Hajj exercise.

The Executive Secretary disclosed this Tuesday at a news conference at the commission’s Headquarters in Yola.

Mallam Salihu explained that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has also approved the commission to kick start 2024 Hajj activities.

He urged intending Pilgrims to deposit at least four point five million naira for their Hajj fare pending the official announcement of the actual fares.

The Executive Secretary appealed to the intending Pilgrims to hasten the payment on or before the end of 2023 as next year’s Hajj exercise differs from the previous ones, noting Saudi authorities will close Visa issuance around March- April 2024.

Mallam Salihu described the 2023 Hajj exercise as hundred percent success which attracted two National Awards of recognition from Independent Hajj Reporters and Observers to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri as the best performing Governor in terms of Hajj operation and the state Commission for enlightening Pilgrims during the exercise.

The Executive Secretary also said Governor Fintiri has given approval to refund Excess payment for 2023  Adamawa Pilgrims.

He then appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his support to the commission and appealed to the staff of the commission to re-double their efforts for optimum performance.

Leaders of the Muslim Council at the ward level in Yola South local government area have been enjoined to work in synergy with all stakeholders in areas for the council to forge ahead.

Chairman, Muslim Council Yola South local government, Engineer Muhammad Buba Bashir made the plea while addressing stakeholders and outgone officials of the council from Mbamoi and Toungo wards during familiarization visit to wards.

He noted that the council will not progress and achieved its desired results without unity among leaders and the stakeholders, adding that it is the responsibility of the community to checkmate activities of council leaders and put them on track whenever they err in the discharge of their duties.

Engineer Bashir who gave historical background of the council made it emphatically clear that organization is owned by Muslim community and not an individual or group of persons, and stressed the need for cohesion among the Muslim Ummah.

On the forthcoming election for ward executives, the chairman cautioned Electoral College (Shura Committee) to ensure only people with impeccable character and proven integrity are elected.

Commenting, ward head of Bangel who is also an adviser to the council, Alhaji Bamanga Mohammed Gabdo reiterated the determination of stakeholders in the area to support the council for it to record success in the forthcoming years.

In their separate remarks, former chairman Mbamoi and Vice Chairman Toungo wards Mohammed Abubakar Alkali lamented that some Muslim children display un-Islamic characters, calling on parents to ensure that their children are guided and brought up in an Islamic way.

Adamawa state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission Yola has concluded airlifting of its intending Pilgrims from Yola to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for twenty-twenty three Hajj exercise.

Public relations officer PRO of the Commission, Mikail Danjuma Mubi who disclosed this to ABC Yola reporter in a Virtual interview all the airlifted pilgrims who are in the Holy Land are sound and healthy.

He said already some intending Pilgrims were moved to Mecca after their stay in Medina.

The Public Relations Officer noted that two thousand five hundred and eighty-three intending Pilgrims from Adamawa are currently in Medina and Mecca for this year’s Hajj.

He observed that even though that there are some initial challenges of feeding and accommodation but experience by the pilgrims that had already been talking care by the officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON.

According to him, Intending Pilgrims who are in Medina are busy visiting important historic places with fervent prayers to the nation at Mosque of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.

Christians have been urged to step up effort towards intensifying their love for humanity.

Brother Elam Nuhu of the Saint Joseph Lutheran Church MOPOL Barracks Mbamba Yola, who made the call in his sermon titled his message “Love is a service to God”, admonished the congregation to always eschew lip service.

The preacher attributed evils perpetrated by people and other ungodly behaviours to practical love missed among Christians, noted that the height of love was exemplified by Jesus Christ, hence the need for people to emulate.

Brother Nuhu who takes his reading from Luke chapter sixteen verse nineteen through thirty-one of the Holy Bible, charged Christians to continually show love to one another irrespective of any difference.

The preacher called on the congregations to follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ and maintain cordial relationship with their neighbours and beyond.

Adamawa Intending Pilgrims in the first flight have entered a camp located at Meridian Hotel yola, ahead of their airlift to the Holy land of mecca for Pilgrimage.

Local governments in the first flight are Michika, Madagali and Girei.

Public Relations Officer of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission, Alhaji Mikail Danjuma Mubi who disclosed this said already buses have commenced carrying intending pilgrims to Yola international airport for screening and possible take off.

He said the first flight is expected to carry intending pilgrims with some officials of the commission.

According to him Aero contractors is the company responsible of airlifting the state intending Pilgrims from Yola to kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

It could be recalled that the Executive Secretary of the commission Mallam Salihu Abubakar announced that two thousand five hundred and seventy-four intending pilgrims are expected to perform this year`s hajj from the state.

In the spirit to go with globalization in its activities and in tune with changing times, Muslim Council, Adamawa State Chapter has established Information and Technology Centre, ICT.

Similarly,  the council has set up a non-governmental organization ‘Pathway Awareness For Initiative’ that would provide relief and other services to the needy, strengthening Zakkat and Waqaf committees to enhance the economic status of less privileged Muslims in the state.

State Chairman of the council, Alhaji Gambo Jika disclosed this Sunday while inaugurating new officials of the council for Yola South local Government area held at Adroit International Academy, Yola.

“We have also commenced the construction of a Revertee Centre to serve as an Educational point for those who reverted to DEEN. The earlier plan for the establishment of a faith-based clinic to cater to the health needs of Ummah is still on course,” Jika said.

He charged the new Executive members to fear Allah and do justice to all by bringing on board all Islamic organizations in the local government area and serving as a bridge among Muslims and non-Muslims as well as ensuring branches of the council at District and ward levels are functional.

“You meet regularly at the EXCO level together with appointed Advisers. It is also mandatory for you to meet with the General Purpose Committee (GPC), as the constitution demands because the EXCO derives its authority from the GPC and it is the GPC that supervises the activities of the EXCO,” Jika explained.

The chairman while congratulating the new Executive members over their elections, charged them to operate based on the constitution of the council, stressing that the state headquarters of the council will monitor their activities in line with the provision of the constitution.

Jika then thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Lamido Adamawa, Doctor Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa, and other traditional rulers for their support of the organization.

Responding on behalf of those inaugurated, the new Chairman of the council for Yola South local government, Engineer Mohammed Bashir Buba vowed to uphold the constitution of the organization in piloting the affairs of the council.

 

He enumerated some of the challenges of the council to include, lack of befitting secretariat, furniture, computers, printers, electric generators, and vehicle, and called on Muslim Ummah to assist the organization in overcoming the challenges.

Earlier, the outgone Secretary of the Council, Mallam Ibrahim Njidda who spoke on behalf of the outgone Chairman Mallam Musa Sambo Ngurore urged Muslims to cooperate and support the new leadership to enable succeed.

In a remark, the Chairman Shura committee, Yola South local government Alkali Dahiru Waziri Dudi reminded the new EXCO not to betray the confidence repose on them, and work in unison for the growth of the organization.

There were goodwill messages from State Commissioner, Ministry of Transport Alhaji Jika Mustapha, Mohammed Saidu Aliyu, Chairman Muslim Council Makama ‘A’ and Chief Imam Hosere Mbebe, Imam Mahmud.

The twenty member EXCO and fifteen Advisers are to run the affairs of the council for the period of three years.

Orphans committee of Muslim Council in Mayo Belwa local government area has distributed clothing materials to over one thousands of Ophans to enable them celebrate Edil-Fitr Sallah celebration joyfully.

At the flag off ceremony of the program which held at Mayo Belwa central Mosque, chairman of the committee Mallam Muhammadu Bako said the gesture is to give the orphans a sense of belonging.

He said the items will be distributed across the thirty five locations in Mayo Belwa.

The Committee Chairman announced that over two million naira was contributed from various individuals within and outside Mayo Belwa.

According to him, the distribution will not be only clothing, other needs of the orphans like Health, Education and Marriages will be also cater for.

Declaring the distribution open, District Head of Mayo Belwa Ardo Muhammadu Bamanga Dalil commended the Ophans committee for its efforts at assisting the children and urged them to maintain the tempo.

Earlier, Chairman of Muslim Council Mayo Belwa local government Modibbo Ahmadu Liman Aminu described assisting orphans as worth doing as it attract blessings from Allah.

He appealed to wealthy Muslims to continue to send in their contributions to the committee to enable it execute many programmes to the orphans.

Some of them interviewed by ABC Yola reporter expressed delight and prayed for Allah to reward the donors abundantly.
