Lamido Adamawa Doctor Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha has conferred the traditional title of SARKIN BAI Adamawa, the first, on the Speaker, Adamawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas.
The Speaker announced his new title on the floor of the house during Tuesday’s sitting as contained in a letter addressed to him and signed by the Secretary, Adamawa Emirate Council.
Legislators present congratulated the Speaker and Prayed to God to give him courage and wisdom to contribute towards the development of the Emirate council.

The event was attended by Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth, other top government officials, traditional rulers, and the academia, among others within and outside the state.

A Non-governmental organization, Trusted Northern Youths Awareness of Nigeria has presented award the General Manager, Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola, Mr. Alleni Ethan Dah an award of excellence.
The presentation ceremony which took place in ABC Yola Broadcasting House, Tuesday, was in recognition of the contributions of the recipient to the development of the state and Journalism profession.
Presenting the award, Mallam Sani Uba Karo who represented the National president of the group said the recognition was based on the outstanding achievements recorded by the state Radio station under his leadership, and described the awardee as one of the foremost broadcaster of the year based on their assessment.
He explained that one of the aims of the organization is to unite youths and uplift their standards through Skills acquisition by organizing seminars and symposiums, adding that they also create awareness among people on dangers of drug abuse and rape among others social problems.
In a remark, Mr. Babangida Hamidu who represented the General Manager Fombima FM Yola said the honored was well-deserved and explained that is a great achievement to Journalists in the state while congratulating the awardee.
Responding, the recipient, the General Manager, Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola, Mr. Alleni Ethan Dah, expressed happiness over the recognition, saying that it came as a surprise being done by a group based outside the state.
The General Manager explained that life is all about commitments which will be recognized and dedicated the award to the entire staff of Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola.
In their separate good will messages, the Director News ABC Yola, Mallam Isma’aila Muhammad and the Unit head of features ABC Yola, Mrs Blesing Ishaya congratulated the General Manager over the observing that he is still active in editing news stories and writing commentaries besides discharging his official duties.

The District Head of Vokna-Pakka in Maiha local government area of Adamawa state, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar has described former Governor of defunct Gongola state late Wilberforce Bafte Juta as a person who sacrificed his life to ensure peace and development not only in his community alone, but Nigeria as a whole.
The Royal father, who spoke to Newsmen, explained that the demise of the second civilian Governor of old Gongola State who hailed from the district has created a vacuum in the political landscape of Adamawa and Nigeria.
He stated late Juta who served the country with dedication as High Commissioner to Zimbabwe has never took for granted the need to promote peace and harmony among the diverse ethnic groups in the country.
Alhaji Abubakar therefore called on the Adamawa and Federal governments to immortalize late Wilberforce Bafte Juta considering his contribution to the unity and development of the country.
The District Head stated that late elder statesman had left an indelible mark worthy of emulation and urged the present crop of politicians to learn from the virtues of late Ambassador Juta who throughout his political struggles played the game without bitterness.
He thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who was represented by his Deputy Chief Crowther Seth, and delegations from Federal and other state governments as well as other dignitaries that attended the funeral in Pakka, and expressed hope that the seed of bond planted by late Ambassador Juta will continue to wax stronger.
